The Truth about Essential Amino Acids
Question: Ask Dr. T What is it I tell someone when they claim you need to get the essential amino acids from this or that source? I wish I could be logical with them and talk about all the countless other animals who are healthier and bigger than we are living entirely on plant life. It is not that simple...

PDD Tests and Treatment
Question: A parent to a PDD (pervasive developmental disorder) child is interested in doing functional laboratory tests in order to get more information and suggest healing alternatives. I offered her the OAT test and the toxic elements test but she wanted to know if there is a test which can give more information both on the PDD problem and on vaccination. Is the Detoxi-Genomic test suitable for this purpose? Would it give her also info regarding the vaccination? She was also asking if you know of a neurologist who treats these children in both ways allopathic (orthodox) and functional?

Articles
Our articles reveal the optimal path to a healthy long life of productivity, pleasure, and sustainability, emphasizing holistic, science-based prevention of chronic, degenerative diseases and ecological activism!
Holistic Science - Effective or Placebo Effect?
Some of my patients occasionally speak with their friends who happen to be allopathic doctors (orthodox medical-industrial doctors) about their medical care for chronic medical conditions (with which they had no good results until using functional medicine). These medical friends often claim in response that there is "no science" in the practice of non-allopathic health practitioners and attribute any improvement to "placebo."
Is that so? How to differentiate placebo from real results? And how placebo is manipulated by pharmaceutical-companies sponsored researchers to make their drugs appear "better than placebo"?

Society can not become sustainable or eco-logical or environmentally sound until social justice issues are addressed at core levels. Ecopolitan's social justice lecture series touch deep solutions to these topics.
August 22: Domestic Violence and Community Wellbeing, by Elizabeth Henderson Shreve.
Nearly one third of women in the United States will be assaulted by a partner during their lifetimes. The injuries sustained by women are felt not just by individuals, but also by their families, friends and loved ones - by our society as a whole. Please join us as we discuss how violence against women and children affects community wellbeing, and how communities can support survivors in a healing process.
Zeb Henderson Shreve is the Community Education Coordinator at Alexandra House, a community-based organization serving battered women and their families in Anoka County. She views domestic violence as part of a larger pattern of violence and oppression, and as a community educator seeks break the cycle of violence through changing social attitudes towards women and violence. Ms. Henderson Shreve has volunteered and worked as a shelter advocate, medical advocate, and legal advocate for battered women in Minnesota, Massachusetts, and California. She is also involved in the arts, particularly modern dance, and she is learning the Argentine tango.
The mission of Alexandra House is to end domestic violence. Founded in 1977 as the Anoka County Task Force for Battered Women, our first shelter opened its doors in 1980. "We are the only domestic violence shelter for women and families in Anoka County, and our services are free to all. As a leader and a partner, Alexandra House seeks to contribute to the good of the community by providing education and training programs as well as fostering the collaborative relationships we have with other organizations. To achieve our mission, we ensure equal access to services that are responsive to both survivors and community needs, and we provide and maintain programs and services that are of the highest quality".
Following July's well-attended lecture on Organic Agriculture, we are now getting into the details, starting a 5-lecture series about the methods of organic agriculture. On the next Tusedays (August 29th and September 5, 6-8+ PM), we will will meet at Ecopolitan, upstairs - and continue to explore the science behind organic foods, regulations, and how our daily decisions on what we consume will impact the future health of our animals, environment, and human race. We look forward to seeing you there! Lectures are presented by Thomas Harrington, from Biologique Foods (Featured Eco-Business of the month - See below). Next topics:
August 29: Standards and Regulations for Organic Agriculture, by Thomas Harrington..
September 5: Toxins & Organic Agriculture, by Thomas Harrington..
In the next Tusedays, Ecopolitan's exiting Eco-Health lecture series continues:

Unlike conventional mammography, DITI is completely safe for pregnant women, women with breast implants, and dense or sensitive breasts, since there is no contact with or compression of the breast. DITI has been recognized as a viable diagnostic tool since 1987 by the AMA Council on Scientific affairs and the ACA Council on Diagnostic Imaging, since 1988 by the Congress of Neuro-Surgeons, and since 1990 by the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
The screening at Ecopolitan (the ONLY MODERN DITI currently available in the Twin Cities that is interpreted by a Board-Certified Radiologist) includes a full thermographic imaging examination and color images, interpretation of the non-breast tissue findings by a Certified Thermographer, and medical interpretation by a board-certified medical radiologist.

We hope that many businesses will follow suit and we will gladly promote them in future newsletters, encouraging our readers to support their efforts and helping them make these often-costly activities a worthwhile investment in their business and in our planet's future. If you feel that your business qualifies, please let us know.
