Today's "brief off-the-cuff, un-referenced" answer from Dr. T:
- It's addictive.
- It has diuretic activities (making you lose minerals).
- It has psychoactive components.
- It wastes your energy while giving you the false impression that you have plenty of it.
- It's hard on the stomach lining and digestive secretions.
- It's toxic for the liver.
- It would have never been eaten by humans in Nature - bitter, revolting until addiction sets it, and difficult to find.
- To overcome the bitterness, profuse amounts of sweeteners are used, causing stress on the pancreas.
